4 / 5
Translated from swedish: "Hate" is consistently unpredictable and compelling, seemingly crafted with genuine passion. Hell if it actually says anything beyond the undeniable fact that There Are Problems, but it says it well. Urgent? Sure, I suppose it is, but above all it's a piece of well-made, well-acted, edgy cinema.

Translated from swedish: In a nation with a declared colorblind concept of citizenship, they have also survived as a reference point in the debate about French national identity, as the film skillfully demonstrates how their visible minority status makes them suspected outsiders in the country that promised them liberty, equality, and fraternity.

1. Moviezine
Translated from swedish: Kassovitz himself has said that he wishes the film had become irrelevant, a historical document rather than a mirror. But police violence, segregation and systematic exclusion are still daily realities – not just in France but globally. From George Floyd to the riots in Nanterre in 2023 – "Hate" is not outdated. It's a warning that's still flashing red. A reminder of what happens when society ignores its wounds.
