6 / 10
Translated from swedish: "Godzilla" is at its best moments powerful and captivating. But then the dialogue scenes and people appear on screen again, and the magic disappears.

6 / 10
Translated from swedish: It's big and imposing, and if you don't expect the traditional Japanese version, you'll probably be more satisfied than I was. And I might change my opinion when I rewatch the film – which I'm likely to do soon.

5 / 10
Translated from swedish: In the end, it simply isn't enough that the titular monster itself is well-crafted and impressive. It's not enough to be easily swept along when Godzilla takes on the other monsters and we witness battles of gigantic proportions. When the film is nothing more than a completely ordinary blockbuster that's been named after a classic monster movie with the character thrown in to justify this, it takes more than that to leave the cinema satisfied.

5 / 10
Translated from swedish: It never feels like any character cares about what's happening in the movie – which gives it a heavy-footed, often quite tedious pace.

5 / 10
Translated from swedish: After the fiasco at the end of the 90s, Hollywood makes a second attempt to tackle Godzilla. This time around, the monster itself receives well-deserved praise, but unfortunately gets far too little room to maneuver.

Translated from swedish: Watching digital monsters destroy skyscrapers in major cities is as boring as watching preschoolers crash a Lego city.

4 / 10
Translated from swedish: Despite all its imperfections, this film occasionally manages to touch upon some of the sensitive nerves that have run through the Pacific region since the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

4 / 10
Translated from swedish: Radioactivity is portrayed one moment as our savior and the next as our doom. It's deadly serious, yet incomprehensible. It's as if the director couldn't decide whether he wanted to make a civilization-critical film or a monster movie with a twinkle in his eye.

Translated from swedish: I know the movie is supposed to be exactly like this, but I'm still a bit disappointed. It is beautiful though. Very beautiful.

4 / 10
Translated from swedish: To say it's exciting would be an overstatement, as the outcome is usually quite predictable. However, there are some surprises along the way that keep interest alive, though what these are won't be revealed here. There's often spectacular action, even if it becomes repetitive to the point of tedium.

3.3 / 10
Translated from swedish: Are you disappointed? Were you hoping for more? Lucky then that Guillermo Del Toro threw together Pacific Rim as recently as last summer, a monster epic that has everything Godzilla has – but much better and much more.
