The highlight of the film is really the interplay between Chris Hemsworth's Thor and Tom Hiddleston's Loki, it's a mix of brotherly love and hatred, and you never know where you stand with the mischievous Loki. Rene Russo as Thor's mother Frigga is also incredibly good in the film.

"Thor: The Dark World" is a good and entertaining film, but unfortunately towards the end it becomes a bit too much action, which means that the film does not quite reach the same high class as the first film. It is, however, still one of the more successful comic book adaptations in recent years, and it is charming and exciting. - Daniel Hofverberg

It seems that the sequel curse does not apply to superhero films, which often start with a rather drawn-out film that is meant to establish both the rules of the game and the environment. There, we often see that the sequel can accelerate with more of all the good stuff. - Alexander Kardelo

    A chunky, well-hammered blockbuster

The sequel has, with the change of director, toned down the theatrics and incorporated more humor into the mix of fantasy, Nordic mythology, speculative science, and slapstick. - Sebastian Lindvall

Thor - The Dark World is one of the worst movies I've seen this year. Here there are Asgardian gods, dark elves who want to cast the Earth into darkness, here there are pure space weapons, here there are monstrous warriors, here there are a couple of chaste kisses, and here there is a liquid that threatens to erase all light. And of course, they smash cars and small mountains into each other's heads. - Björn Jansson

Amidst all these packed images, Stellan Skarsgård still manages to make an impression as the researcher who, under the influence of the universe, loses everything, including his clothes, and starts running completely naked around Stonehenge. It is in some way impressive. - Maria Brander

The many turning points contribute to the tension, and the ending points unequivocally towards a near sequel. - Maria Domellöf-Wik
