Compassionate and atmospheric, the film possesses a kind of dreamlike realism that, with the help of a careful and hypnotic camerawork and achingly beautiful string music by Stephen Rennicks, perfectly accompanies the eye-opening encounter of two halves that together create a heart-warming whole.

Despite all the impressive blockbusters that are being pumped out during these Oscar seasons, I can probably say that 'The Silent Girl' is among the absolute best - it might even be the best film I've seen from 2022. A masterpiece that gets full marks from me!
