It took a little time before I felt the undertones of the film and could take in the characters' feelings and what happens in their monotonous lives. - Jan-Eje Ferling

Jim Jarmusch's film "Paterson", with Adam Driver in the lead, is a typical story for the director: not much happens and the characters are cool cats who are passionate about old pop culture. - Mattias Oscarsson

I'm a bit generous in my grading, but at the same time this is one of the finest films I've seen in a while. - Filip Kruse

Anyway, "Paterson" is a nice friend to get to know. Not only for the slightly wonderful film experience, but also for what you take with you afterwards. A feeling that the world is a little more special, that everyday life is a little more wonderful and that the small moments are worth cherishing. The feeling that every day is a blank page. - Alexander Kardelo

Step by step, poem after poem, the film begins to find a form. It is one of the better films I have seen about creativity - it is a difficult subject to actually find an expression for. - Fredrik Fyhr

With a light touch, Jim Jarmusuch sketches an old industrial town that may live on its past merits, but is far from being called dead. In the hands of another director, the banal everyday life would have been depicted as a suffocating prison. But in Jarmusuch's hands, the repetitive pattern instead forms a hymn to the small moments of everyday life, which in themselves constitute the poetry of life. - Simon Pollack Sarnecki

The tone is typical of Jarmusch. Although the film is strictly chronological, the scenes almost appear as small short films stacked on top of each other. It is beautifully narrated with brilliant photography by Frederick Elmes. - Caroline Widenheim

With small means, Adam Driver shows his great range, so that the director with "Paterson" approaches the level of the glory days. - Jon Asp
