The film has aged remarkably well. It is ultimately a story about humanity's vain attempts to control nature, and it ends in catastrophe. Hammond becomes a modern Frankenstein, who loves his creation. Towards the end, he looks back and wants to stay in it, despite everything that has happened. - Jan-Eje Ferling
