The film has everything you want from an Indiana Jones film, but lacks that new thing.

We are not convinced that Indy 5 will attract many new fans to the series, as it relies a little too heavily on its own (nostalgic) history, but for those of us who grew up in the 1980s with the dashing archaeologist in a leather jacket, hat askew and the whip always at the ready, Dial of Destiny is a worthy conclusion and a film you just have to see.

An entertaining film that has its problems, but despite that, it feels like a worthy ending for Indiana Jones and his adventures!

INDIANA JONES AND THE DIAL OF DESTINY is a quite decent film, it is anything but bad, and it is better than a lot of other action and adventure films made today. But it cannot be denied that the film pales in comparison to the three films from the 80s.

In other words, it is a classic Indiana Jones adventure that at least makes up for the mediocre fourth film from 2008. The feeling is often nostalgic and 'child-friendly' in a way that reflects the Disney brand, but faithful to the original films in a way that the latest Star Wars trilogy, for example, failed to do. Hats off, or something like that.

There are good action scenes, you have the classic John Williams music, you have the Nazis and artifacts. But in between, something is missing, that Spielberg feeling and the sense of adventure that is so unbeatable to beat. I miss seeing Indiana enjoy and have fun on his adventure and the practical effects that are not surrounded by a lot of digital effects.

The old acclaimed actor has been provided with various digital makeup (de-aging CGI) that rejuvenates him so that the biopic audience does not have to see an old man trying to play an action hero. The adventure and this technique work well as a temporary nostalgia kick, but not much more.

I have no doubt that "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny" will be a mega-hit in theaters, and a film like this should definitely be seen on the big screen and not on a home screen. But it's not a movie that I will return to as many times as I have watched "Raiders of the Lost Ark".

2.5 hours of effort, a magnificent matinee adventure where one gets what one hoped for and also expected

In a world where the future has little to offer, "Indiana Jones and the dial of destiny" works as a somewhat melancholic reminder - let it be contradictory, matinee nostalgic - of not getting stuck in the past.

The new Indiana Jones is long and repetitive, but mostly lives up to expectations

The new Indiana Jones movie is just what we expect - a moderately good matinee adventure, which unfortunately doesn't make much of an impression on us. Director James Mangold should have done a better job with this opportunity. - Fredrik Lagnetoft

Whether Ford rides through a moon landing parade or drives a tuk-tuk in Morocco, it feels in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny that he is far too deeply embedded in the digital veneer. Even though his crooked smile certainly breaks through, the originality, heart, and charm of the original trilogy have been lost in our tragically IP-hungry era. Perhaps old movie heroes belong in museums, safely sheltered from both creators and box office-hungry studios.

In the fifth film about 'Indiana Jones', they have thrown in a bit of refreshing kitchen sink realism. However, the film quickly becomes a bit too full of ideas.

This is not a new tax, in other words, but a forgery that does not belong to the original trilogy - the real deal. However, if you are a die-hard Indy fan, I can recommend buying a ticket, watching the first twenty minutes of the film, and then leaving the cinema as soon as the prologue is over.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is a nostalgic trip and a moving attempt to turn it into a theme.
